About Home Security
Home security does not have to be a huge complicated, potentially overly
expensive prospect. The reality is that there are many things you can do, and
very inexpensive yet very effective ways to keep your hope safe and secure.
There are some simple things to remember when it comes to protecting the
castle which can make all the difference.
Home Invasion Prevention
Mix it up a little.
If someone is casing your neighborhood (or in English checking out to see
where the best potential targets may lie) - one thing a potential burglar or
intruder will be looking for is a regular schedule. If you lights go on at 6:15
every night and perhaps a radio starts playing about that time, that will let
the burglar know that is t is very likely that if he or she is gone before 6:15
they can likely get away with the good stuff with little chance that you'll walk
in. If they want to be there to do some harm of some sort, they also know when
to be there to wait for you. This is les likely the case though, as most people
who break into homes are looking to make a quick buck and be gone which brings
me to my next point.
Most criminals are looking for an easy target. So don't be one.
You can install lights, imitation security cameras and a variety of other
things to draw attention to yourself and you can also make it seem like you
would be a pain to mess with in the first place. We suggest items like door
alarms, window sensors, motion sensors, and perhaps a dog bowl and a chain.
That's right. Whether you have a dog or not is irrelevant. Whether if you have a
dog named Fluffy or Peaches or Buddy is irrelevant. If you have a clearly
visible dog bowl with a friendly name like "Jaws" or
"Chomper" and a chain out in the back yard where people can see it,
that go a long way towards convincing someone that what awaits them on the other
side of that door or window isn't worth running into.
Stop Them Before They Get In
Make it difficult to enter.
Again, this is a variation the last point. If a criminal is still going to
try breaking into your house, using things like door stops that physically stop
someone while making a lot of noise is an excellent second step. While we can of
course wee the advantage of the expense of an alarms company service,
combinations locks can be shorted, and the time it takes for a police car to
arrive or a phone call to ascertain, then act on a potential problem can be
enough time for someone to do what they came to do and be gone.
The point here the decision to think like a victim or to think like someone
who knows how to put out the signals of someone who is prepared and ready.
